Nicole "Nikki" Lynn Cherry, age 37, of Annandale passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services, Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Annandale Health & Community Services.

Nikki was born on January 29, 1972 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She went to school in Morton and Redwood Falls, MN. In 1987, her family moved to Longmont, CO where she attended Niwot High School. In high school, Nikki was active in Cross County and Gymnastics; she went to state in both sports. She also participated in band and 4H and enjoyed skiing and square dancing. During her junior year, on May 10, 1989, Nikki was involved in an auto accident in Niwot, CO. Subsequent to her accident, she resided at Applewood Care Center in Longmont. In 1996, she moved with her parents to Annandale, MN to be close to family. While in Annandale, she lived at the Annandale Care Center and attended Wright Connection III Day Program at Functional Industries in Buffalo.

Nikki had a wonderful and unique sense of humor and people were drawn to her throughout her life. She was lovingly cared for by her devoted family. Special thanks to the staff of Annandale Care Center and Wright Connection III and all her medical staff.

She is survived by her parents, Tom and Nita of Annandale; sisters, Cassandra (Jon) Smart of Edina and Kelly Jo (Art) Lundgren of Minnetonka; grandmother, Gloria Cherry; aunts and uncles, Jim and Diane Cherry, Leigh Cherry, Kay and George LaValley, Susan Von Mosch, Theresa and Steve Swansson and Deb Von Mosch; nieces, Madeline and Claire Smart; and nephew, Mac Lundgren. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Mavis Von Mosch and Brainerd Cherry; and uncle, Bill Von Mosch.
