Nancy A. Pelzel, age 65, of Annandale, MN died Sunday, September 1, 2002 after a yearlong struggle with lung cancer at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home, Howard Lake, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Heron Lake with Bishop Daniel DiNardo officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Nancy Ann Pelzel was born January 10, 1937 in Marshfield, WI to George and Agnes (Schaack) Shepherd. She was a 1955 graduate of Pius XI High School and a 1959 graduate of Alverno College both in Milwaukee, WI. She married Charles H. Pelzel August 13, 1960 in Milwaukee, WI. Nancy lived in Cedar Rapids, IA before moving to Annandale, MN in 1990 where she was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Charles of Annandale, nine children and their spouses, Father Bradley Pelzel of Sioux City, IA, Amy (Robert) Ogram of Monticello, Gregory (Stana) Pelzel of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kenneth (Lori) Pelzel of Benson, Heidi (Andrew) MacLachlan of Burke, VA, Jane Pelzel of Appleton, WI, Erika Pelzel of Loretto, MN, Alexander (Kelly) Pelzel of Salt Lake City, UT, Nicholas Pelzel of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Mary Jane Ibarra of Waukesha, WI, Susan (Steve) Ragatz of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, John `Jack` (Ann) Shepherd of Wauwatosa, WI, George `Bill` (Hope) Shepherd of Milwaukee, WI; nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Abigail MacLachlan, Elizabeth Ogram, Graham Norberg, and Anthony MacLachlan. Music for the funeral was provided by Bonnie Henkels and Sacred Heart Choir.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale, Minnesota.
