Nancy Spencer Hable, age 61, of Annandale died on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Cloud.
A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Annandale United Methodist Church. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Nancy was born to Dorothy and Richard Potts in Sacramento California on April 15, 1947. She stayed in California to complete her formal education at the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a BS in business followed by an MBA. Nancy was accepted and enrolled in Berkeley's PhD program, helping forge inroads for the women who followed. A seeker of knowledge and understanding, she gave much with no regard for payback, was a tireless worker, and a quiet leader to those around her. Nancy brought her exceptional talents and radiant smile to the Midwest to live among cornfields and prairies while working in her chosen field of telecommunications at AT&T, and later with Qwest. She became a vested part of the Annandale community as a trusted friend, gracious neighbor, willing volunteer, and a true lover of animals, large or small.
Survived by husband, Tim; sister, Victoria; stepsons, Joshua Grigg, Michael and Benjamin Hable; stepdaughters, Raki Swanson and Erin Hable; and 4 grandchildren.
Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
