Monte P. Serbus, age 60, of Kimball, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the St. Cloud Hospital as a result of a stroke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Kimball with Fr. Donald Wagner as Celebrant. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, both at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.on Monday at the church.
Monte Peter Serbus was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota on August 5, 1964, to Richard and Constance (Loesch) Serbus. He lived his entire life in the Kimball area, and was a 1982 graduate of Kimball High School. On August 27, 1994, Monte was united in marriage to Amy Chastek at the Church of St. Anne in Kimball. Together, they lived in Kimball and raised their two daughters, Hannah and Megan. Monte worked for Diamond Drywall for over 20 years, in addition to operating Serbus Drywall on the side. He was a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union.
Throughout his life, Monte held a deep love for sports, enjoying activities like hunting, fishing, and golfing. He loved spending time with his friends. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his daughters, Hannah and Megan, and creating cherished memories with them and his wife, Amy.
Monte is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Amy of Kimball; daughters, Hannah (Tyler) Knapp of Buffalo and Megan Serbus of Kimball; one grandson on the way; mother, Connie of Kimball; brother, Mark (Julie) Serbus; parents-in-law, David and Diane Chastek; siblings-in-law, Brian Chastek, Robin (Kim) Chastek, Julie (Gary) Bender, Kristi (Vern) Zoller, Kerri (Brad) Looman, Kim (Randy) Werner, Tony Chastek, and Colleen (Chris) Leaver; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard.
