Mrs. Monica A. Thomsen, age 74, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will be in St. Timothy`s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Thursday.
Monica Ann Thomsen was born June 3, 1931 in Eden Valley to Joseph L. and Helen A. (Wurm) Loch. She graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1949. Monica married Robert J. Copeland in 1950 and the couple later divorced. She than married Henry `Joe` Thomsen on October 27, 1974 in Maple Lake and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1991. Monica spent her life feeding and serving her community. She started in food service at the age of 11 and even after owning and selling the Maple Lake CafAC., friends and family could always count on her for a favorite pie or dish. She was loved and will be missed by many. Monica lived in Maple Lake all her life where she was an active member of St. Timothy`s Catholic Church and a life member of the Maple Lake VFW Auxiliary Post #7664. She loved her family, friends and cooking.
Monica is survived by her daughters, Mary (Don) Super of St. Cloud, Kay (Bob) Lucas of West Bend, WI, Janet (Donnie) Price of Wilmington, NC, Kelly Copeland of St. Louis Park, and Annette (Brent) McClellan of Montrose; son, Bob (Kelli) Copeland of Monticello; extended family, Larry and Barb Thomsen family; brothers, Ronald (Dorothy) of Buffalo, Donald (Marion) of Coon Rapids, and Gene (Stephanie) of Becker; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 3 brothers and 1 grandson preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Kirk and Michelle Super, Jamie and Jeff Lucas, Bobby and Misty Copeland, Annette McClellan , and Lois Carlson. Music for the funeral provided by Sarah Goelz and Krista Tarbox.
