Mildred DeMarais Wurm Hannon, age 73, of Monticello died Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Monticello-Big Lake Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. Burial will follow in St. Timothy's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 6 p.m. Thursday.
Mildred DeMarais Wurm Hannon was born January 25, 1935 at Maple Lake to John and Margaret DeMarais. She married Ralph W. Wurm on September 17, 1955 in Waverly and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1994. She married Patrick J. Hannon on August 7, 1999 in Maple Lake and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2006. Millie was raised on a farm near Waverly, from 1955-1999 lived on Cedar Lake, and from 1999-2007 in Big Lake. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Timothy's Church, Council of Catholic Women, & Maple Lake American Legion Post 131 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, bird watching, and spending time with friends, family, & her grandchildren.
She is survived by children, Alfred (Catherine) Wurm of Maple Lake, Cheryl (Todd) Thomas of Oak Ridge, TN, John Wurm (fiance Jennifer Hoffman) of Maple Lake, Edward Wurm of Maple Lake, Karen (Joseph) Fobbe of Long Grove, IL; step children, Diana Braun of Sartell, Heidi Goelz of Maple Lake, Joseph (Jolene) Hannon of Maple Lake; mother, Margaret DeMarais; brothers, Douglas, Eugene, Duane (Lois); sister, Charlene Driver, all of Waverly; 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Jake) White of Knoxville, TN, Hannah (Preston) Fischer of Sartell, Heather Wurm of Maple Lake, Ashley, Taylor & Tanner Thomas of Oak Ridge, TN, Matthew, Jordan, Ethan, & Haleigh Fobbe of Long Grove, IL; 2 great grandchildren, Cameron Thomas & Peter White; and 8 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ralph Wurm & Patrick Hannon, father John DeMarais, and son Joseph Wurm.
The pallbearers will be Chad Driver, Randy Wurm, Taylor & Tanner Thomas, Matthew & Jordan Fobbe. Sarah Goelz and Krista Elsenpeter will provide the music for the service. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
