Obituary

Michael "Mike" J. Rudolph, age 70, of South Haven, died Monday, October 12, 2026, at the St. Cloud Hospital after a hard-fought battle with Cancer.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2026, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be held at a later date off the coast of Washington. Memorials are preferred to Coborn Cancer Center.

Mike James Rudolph was born on August 28, 1956, in Minneapolis to James and Muriel (Peterson) Rudolph. Mike grew up in Golden Valley before graduating from Robbinsdale High School in 1974. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years as a nuclear propulsion plant supervisor aboard several carriers, including the USS California and USS Arkansas.

Mike's career continued after his Navy service. He dedicated 20 years to Wright-Hennepin, where he served as a systems management supervisor. Mike married the love of his life, Launa Stuve, on July 7, 2001, at their cabin on Lake Sylvia. Together, they made a home in South Haven, where family was always at the heart of Mike's life. He treasured the time he spent with his loved ones and the memories they made together.

Mike enjoyed spending winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and going on road trips. He loved classic arcade games, especially pinball, and enjoyed watching football and throwing darts. He was also a proud member of the Apollo Men's Choir. Mike appreciated the outdoors, especially hunting antelope out west and spending time relaxing at the family cabin by the lake.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Launa Rudolph; stepchildren, Sophia and Sy Heid (Jessica Felegy); three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Teri (Keith) Crouch and Peggy (Richard) Rudolph-Lisle; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his parents.
