Michael G. O'Reilly, age 67, of Kimball, formerly Brainerd, died at his home surrounded by the love and care of his family on Monday, September 8, 2014.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Kimball Church of Christ with Rev. Steve Rowland officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the service at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11:00 am on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery near Camp Ripley with military honors.
Michael Glenn O'Reilly was born October 9, 1946 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Raymond Vernon and Juanita Rita (Jewell) O'Reilly. Mike grew up in Brainerd and graduated with the Brainerd High School Class of 1964. Mike honorably served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Upon his military discharge, Mike worked various jobs before entering college in 1986. Mike was then reunited with Beverly Brown, and on October 17, 1992 they were united in marriage in Buffalo, Minnesota.
Mike enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, softball and bowling. He was a devout Minnesota Viking's fan. He was always up to having a cup of coffee and grabbing a bite to eat. Mike was an "AA" sponsor and through the Kimball Church of Christ was proud to be a part of The Quest for Authentic Manhood, which served many inmates in the St. Cloud prison, and is still active today. Above all, Mike enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Kimball; children, Michelle O'Reilly of Brainerd, Cindy (Mike) Mueller of Parish, New York, Lisa O'Reilly of Maple Grove, Jessi (Ricky) Besmehn of Nisswa, Mandi (Chad Keskitalo) Schaefer of Deer Creek, Tina (Scott) Ebertowski of Pillager, Bronson Hammerstad of Kimball, and Tara Hammerstad of Buffalo; siblings, Jerry (Cheryl) O'Reilly of Brainerd, Bob (Jan) O'Reilly of Brainerd, Penny (Jeff) Sawdy of Minneapolis, and John O'Reilly of Brainerd; 21 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Jim, Tim, and To m O'Reilly and Jackie Karlson.
