Michael G. Blum, age 54, of 8610 State Highway 55 NW, Annandale died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2003 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Ray Kirtz and Deacon Mike Medley officiating. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
Michael George Edward Blum was born August 24, 1949 in Minneapolis to George and Mary (Haeg) Blum. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and married Janice M. Miller on March 18, 1978; she preceded him in death on October 4, 2002. Mike was a master plumber in the Plumbers Union Local #15, Minneapolis and has lived in the Annandale area the past 14 years, previously living in Monticello. He was a member of Maple Lake VFW Post #7664, Plumbers Union Local #15, and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed wildlife, fishing, hunting, gardening, and farming.
He is survived by children, Michelle Blum of Annandale, Joseph Blum of Annandale, Ellen Bakken & her husband, Bruce of Monticello, Barbara Angelo of Coon Rapids, Carolee Baxter of Minnetrista, Sammy Baxter of Elk River; special friend, Kathi Durkee of Annandale; mother, Mary Blum of Bloomington; brothers, Thomas Blum & his wife, Adrian of Seattle, WA, Robert Blum of San Diego, CA; goddaughter, Marianne Thayer; and eleven grandchildren. His wife, father, and brother, Steven preceded him in death.
The pallbearers will be Joseph, Robert, Thomas, & Aaron Blum, Bruce Bakken, Sam Baxter, Terry Baxter, Jr., Dean Brunsvold, and Roger Buck and the organist will be Sarah Goelz.
