Michael L. Aitchison, age 64, of Annandale, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

Visitation will be from 5:00-6:30 p.m. with a Service at 6:30 p.m. on  Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale.

Michael Lee Aitchison was born on April 28, 1950 at 6:52 a.m. in Waseca, MN, along with his twin sister, Janet, who was born 10 minutes prior. The Ed & Alberta Glazier family in Annandale fostered Mike until he graduated in 1968 from Annandale High School. He always considered the Glaziers his family. Mike honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 until 1972. During this time, Mike spent 2 1/2 years in and around Vietnam, followed by one year at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Loram Railway Company in Medina kept Mike traveling the railroad systems of North America for nine years. His principal career was with the Wright County Sheriff's Office as a civilian corrections officer from 1988 until his retirement in 2011. In addition to being on the jail staff, Mike was also a civilian finger printer, a member of the Sheriff's Scuba Diving Team, as well a member of the Military Honor Guard.

He is survived by his best friend, Denise Liebl and her son, Adam, of Crystal, MN; Foster siblings, Sonny (Nancy Fiske) Glazier of Annandale, Diane Kelly of Eagle River, AK, and Janice (Mike) Rivers of Annandale; as well as siblings, Dale (Lois) Aufderheide of New Ulm, MN and Paula Powers of Paynesville, MN; and other family members and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his foster parents, Ed and Alberta Glazier and twin sister, Janet.

The arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
