Obituary

Mrs. Melvina E. Stumpf, age 90, of Maple Lake died Friday, January 14, 2005 at the Buffalo Hospital.


Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 8-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Monday.


Melvina Eva Stumpf was born September 3, 1914 in Maple Lake to John and Catherine (Cordell) Geyen. She married Victor F. Stumpf September 10, 1935 in Maple Lake and he preceded her in death April 28, 1984. Melvina lived in the Maple Lake area all her life where she was a homemaker and also cooked for 15 years at Camp Courage. She was a member of St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Melvina loved her family, cooking, enjoyed summers in Minnesota, and for a few years enjoyed wintering in Texas.

Melvina is survived by 4 children and their spouses, Margaret (James) Hurd of Plymouth, Gerald (Ann) of Maple Lake, Maurice (Joyce) of Phoenix, and Juliana Starr of Hopkins; sisters, Lenora Stumpf of Buffalo, Catherine Happe of Maple Lake, and Delores (Robert) Rohlin of Buffalo; brother, John `Jack` (Darlene) of Annandale; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and twin great granddaughters due in February. 2 sisters and 4 brothers preceded her in death.


Pallbearers will be Ronald, Robert, and Richard Hurd, Scott, Todd, and Shawn Stumpf. Music for the funeral provided by Krista Elsenpeter and Sarah Goelz.



Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
