Melvin H. Johnson, age 68 of Annandale died Friday, July 24, 2009 at his home.
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, French Lake. Rev. Edward Groop will officiate and burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, French Lake. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Melvin Howard Johnson was born February 15, 1941 in French Lake to Reynold and Bernice (Walberg) Johnson. He married Sharon Connelly on June 22, 1963 in Cokato. Melvin worked for Elk River Bituminous, before retiring from Mid-Minnesota Hot Mix in Annandale. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, gardening, canning and baking.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; son, Tim (Lisa) of Annandale; daughter, Barb (Tom) Larson of South Haven; sisters and brothers, Lorraine (Jerry) Hicks of Elk River, Floyd (Myrtle) of Annandale, Karen (Mike) Carlisle of Deerwood, Donna (Butch) Reil of St. Michael and Duane (Kay) of Annandale; sister in law, Marlene (Wes) Johnson of Eden Prairie; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harlen.
The urnbearer will be Lori Hansen. Margaret Groop will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
