Melvin "Bud" Blair, age 89, of Kimball died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Heritage House of Kimball.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Kimball, with Fr. Eb Schefers as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, Kimball. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Tuesday, at the church.
Melvin John Blair was born January 24, 1927 at home in Kimball to Arthur and Amelia (Adolph) Blair. He grew up and lived his entire life in the Kimball area. Bud served his country with the United States Army. He worked in road construction for Hodgeman in Fairmont and Duinnick Incorporated in Willmar. After retiring, he worked on the grounds crew at Kimball Golf Club. Bud was a former member of the Kimball American Legion Post 261 and St. Anne Catholic Church. He enjoyed tinkering and spending time in the outdoors.
Bud is survived by his brother Lester Blair & his wife Millie of Otsego; sister-in-law Hattie Blair; and twelve nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Amelia Blair; brothers Dale, Orville and Ralph Blair; and sister Verda Prehoda.
The casket bearers will be Bud's nieces and nephews. Kathy Pauls and the St. Anne Funeral Choir will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
