Maxine J. Brown, age 80 of Rogers, formerly of Annandale died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Annandale Evangelical Free Church, Annandale. Rev. Dennis L. Johnson will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Maxine J. Brown was born December 16, 1927 in Buffalo to Edwin and Mabel (Hader) Holmquist. She married Floyd Brown on March 8, 1949 in Buffalo and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2007. Maxine worked at Oakley National Bank in Buffalo until she was married; she then worked at Brown's Velvet Ice Cream, which was owned and operated by her husband, Floyd. Maxine was a member of Annandale Evangelical Free Church, where she was active as a deaconess, White Cross, Women's Bible Study, Women's Missionary Society and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She volunteered at the Annandale Care Center and for Meals on Wheels. She loved music and enjoyed sewing and reading. Maxine's first priorities in life were God and her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Joelle (Les) Raney of Shoreview, Heidi (Bill) Hjertstedt of Corcoran, Melanie (Jack) Gorczyca of Eagle, ID and Lisa (Tim) Crimmins of Meridian, ID; sons, Kevin (Mary) of South Haven and Reid (Rebecca) of Monticello; brothers and sisters, Kermit Holmquist of Buffalo, Bruce (Harriet) Holmquist of Buffalo, Bev (Ed) Kussman of Maple Grove, Keith (Shirley) Holmquist of Anderson, SC and Sharon (Stan) Skytte of Plymouth; sister-in-law, Gale Holmquist of Buffalo; brother-in-law, Ray Peterson of Willmar; grandchildren, Chad, Jordan, Kyle, Britta, Krista, Justina, Terra, Corey, Jason, Mackenzie, Hunter, Tagtstrom, Marina and McCoy; and great grandchildren, Addison and Caitlyn. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; parents, Edwin and Mabel; brother, Dwight Holmquist; sister, Muriel Peterson; and sister-in-law, Bernie Holmquist.

Pallbearers will be Chad, Jordan and Kyle Raney, Corey and Jason Crimmins, Hunter, Tagtstrom, and McCoy Brown. Gale Holmquist, Britta Hjertstedt and Krista Hjertstedt will provide the music for the service. Arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
