Mavis Alene Magnuson was born on November 12, 1942, in Kimball, Minnesota to Lawrence and Grace (Mayer) Magnuson. She grew up in Kimball, where she graduated from Kimball High School. For the majority of her adult life, Mavis resided in Farmington, Minnesota, where she forged a fulfilling career at Northwest Airlines. Some of her roles included ticketing, cargo, and luggage, reflecting her tireless spirit and commitment to excellence in everything she undertook. This also fueled her zest for adventure and her love of world travel.

To her nieces and nephews, Mavis was self-proclaimed the "crazy aunt," with playful teasing and boundless affection. In addition to her family, her heart belonged to her beloved cats, proudly claiming the title of the "crazy cat lady" as she nurtured the furry companions who brought her so much joy. From her youth until her final days, she never lost her spark or her ability to flirt.

Mavis was a member of the University of Minnesota Raptor Center, where she experienced the profound honor of participating in an eagle release. This passion for wildlife mirrored her love for life in all its forms. Additionally, she was also a member of the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary.

Mavis is survived by her nieces and nephews, Larry, Mark, Cindy, Donny, DD, Tagg, Michelle and Thad, cousins, other family members, and friends.
