Mrs. Mary Ann Sandberg, age 82, devoted wife and mother passed away peacefully Thursday, February 12, 2004 at her home on Lake Francis, rural South Haven.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church, rural South Haven with Rev. Michael Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the church. There will be a prayer service 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Mary Ann Sandberg was born August 19, 1921 in Christine, ND to Hans and Anna (Sande) Nelson. She graduated from Christine High School and married L. Martin Sandberg September 8, 1940 in Moorhead. Mary Ann lived in New Hope for 15 years before moving to Lake Francis, rural South Haven in 1980. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, rural South Haven. Mary Ann was very creative, loved her family, and living on Lake Francis.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, L. Martin of South Haven; sons, Larry (Joanne) of Monticello, David (Cheryl) of Bonita Springs, FL, and Scott of South Haven; daughters, Joan (Peter) Perusse of Crystal, Judy Kudrle of Mankato, and Sue Kumpula of Buffalo; brother, Robert (Lois) Nelson of Sioux City, IA; sister, Edna Nelson of Mesa, AZ; 13 grandchildren, Chris (John) Goebel, Eric Sandberg, Lee (April) Sandberg, Shelly (Jack) Ditter, Gena (Randy) Snodgrass, Jaimee and Jenna Kudrle, Anna and Emily Kumpula, Joe and Dan Perusse, Steven and Sarah Sandberg; and 11 great grandchildren. Her parents; and six brothers preceded her in death.

Pallbearers will be Lee, Eric, and Steven Sandberg, Joe and Dan Perusse, and Brady Logan. The organist for the funeral will be Barb Root.
