Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Mattson, age 100, of Annandale and Formerly of Minneapolis died Friday, May 15, 2008 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, French Lake. Rev. Edward Groop will officiate and burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Betty was born Oct. 20, 1907 on a farm in French Lake Township near Annandale. As a young woman she moved to Minneapolis and found work at the Radisson Hotel downtown. She met Clifford Mattson and in 1936 they were married. Betty spent most of her life in Minneapolis but Annandale was home. She was glad she was able to spend her final years in the community she loved. Betty was devoted to her family and friends and was much beloved.
She is survived by her sons, Wesley (Barbara) of Minneapolis and David (Mary) of Princeton; grandchildren, Leta Foster, Jaana Mattson, Jason Mattson and Julie Schlagel; great grandchildren, Kyler, Amelia and Helen. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; brothers, Helmer, Richard, Martin, Wayne, Rudolph and Enoch Lampi; sisters, Jennie Lampi and Sylvia Brooks.
Pallbearers will be Troy Hill, Jeff Hill, Leta Foster, Jaana Mattson, Julie Schlagel and Jason Mattson. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
