Mary P. Lemm, age 87, of Monticello, died Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Monticello Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Timothy Catholic Church with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant and Fr. Aaron Loch, LC as Concelebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary Patricia Lemm was born March 2, 1931 in the rural Foley, Minnesota area to Charles and Inez (LeMere) Foster. Mary also grew up and attended school in the area. On November 24, 1952 she united in marriage to Donald Lemm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Foley. They lived in New Hope, before moving to the Monticello area in 1966. In addition to raising her four children, Mary also worked as a cook at the Monticello High School for 25+ years. She and Don moved into the City of Maple Lake, where she made her home until the last couple of years when she moved to Monticello. Mary was a member of the Maple Lake VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, where she participated in the Quilters Club and CCW. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing bingo. She was always willing to play a game of 500 as well. Mary will fondly be remembered for her wonderful cooking, baking, and canning abilities. Her pies and raspberry jam were enjoyed by many. Above all, Mary treasured the time she was able to spend with her family.

Mary was survived by her children, Colleen (Edward) Anderson of Zimmerman, John (Cindy) of Big Lake, Daniel of Monticello, and Kathy (Alan) Loch of Buffalo; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; siblings, Steve (Virginia) Foster of Columbus, WI and Margaret (Donald) Doeden of Foley, MN; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and brothers, Bill & Jim Foster.
