Marvin C. Wurm, age 88, of Maple Lake died Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. Burial will follow at St. Timothy's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Marvin Charles Wurm was born November 7, 1920 in Corinna Township, Wright County to William and Emma (Cantin) Wurm. He served as a member of the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WW II. Marvin married Alice Erickson on January 27, 1951 in Minneapolis and she preceded him in death on September 3, 1981. He was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Fr. O'Brien's Council Knights of Columbus, Maple Lake Legion Post 131 and Maple Lake VFW Post 7664. Marvin enjoyed work, fishing, and following the Minnesota Twins & Minnesota Vikings.
He is survived by his children & their spouses Chris & Paul Steinhoff of Annandale, Mike & Cheryl of Annandale, Nancy & Rick Carlson of South Haven, Pam & Dave Eastman of Lake Wales, FL, sister Annabelle Miessen of Plymouth, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, granddaughter Jessica Carlson, brothers Russell, Earl & Donald, and sister Bernice Kotilinek.
The pallbearers will be his six grandsons Josh Carlson, Chad Wurm, Jeff Steinhoff, Joe Wurm, Kristopher Eastman and Tyler Wurm. The music for the service will be provided by organist Marge Pavlik and the St. Timothy's Resurrection Choir. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
