Marvin E. Gutknecht, age 77, of Kimball formerly of Annandale and Fair Haven died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Heritage House, Kimball.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven with Rev. Timothy Nerud officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the Church.
Marvin Ervin Gutknecht was born April 26, 1934 in St. Cloud to Herman and Martha (Luedtke) Gutknecht. He was Baptized on May 20, 1934 and Confirmed in the Lutheran Faith on March 21, 1948 at Concordia Lutheran Church where he was a lifelong member. He attended school in Fair Haven and Kimball and served his Country as a member of the U.S. Army. He married MaryJane Cleveland on June 16, 1962 and she preceded him in death on May 16, 2001. He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, his Oliver tractors, his Harley, and his family.
He is survived by his three children Nancy Schreiner of Fair Haven, Linda (Dan) Rosenow of Fair Haven, Mark (Roxanne) Gutknecht of Clearwater, brothers Lester (Vi) of Fair Haven, Ervin (Carol) of Pine City, sister Rosemary (David) Dutton of Coon Rapids, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife MaryJane and brothers Elmer & Victor.
The pallbearers will be Sean Walker, James Clark, Scott Whitters, Jesse Weisman, Devin Rosenow, Justin Jacobs, and Christopher Gutknecht. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
