Mark L. Zander, age 96, of 2841 County Road 7 NW, Maple Lake died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2006 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake with Rev. Jeff Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem United Church of Christ.
Mark Louis Zander was born November 26, 1909 in Albion Township, Wright County to August and Elizabeth (Lorentz) Zander. He married Esther M. Mielke February 18, 1931 in Howard Lake and she preceded him in death on June 17, 1980. Mark farmed in Albion Township his entire lifetime; he also did carpentry, masonry and custom agriculture work. He was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and enjoyed dancing and card playing.
He is survived by son, Kenneth of Cokato; grandchildren, Thomas (Cynthia), Timothy, John, & Barbara (Roger) Polo; great grandchildren, Elizabeth & Daniel Zander, all of Maple Lake; step grandchildren, Vicky, Valerie, & Brenda; also many nieces, nephews, & step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; daughters in law, Rozella & Norma; great grandson, Joseph; and 12 brothers & sisters.
The pallbearers will be John, Timothy, Thomas, Daniel, & Elizabeth Zander, Roger Polo, Gerald Uecker, and Larry Holland. The organist for the service will be Myrna Jude. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake
