Marjetta Hadler, age 83, of Annandale, Minnesota, died September 5, 2022 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Pastor Alex Becker will officiate. Burial will follow at North Corinna Cemetery near Annandale.
Marjetta Rose Cella Hadler was born June 29, 1939, in Bottineau, North Dakota to Enoch and Gladys (Scheflo) Mastvelten. Marjetta graduated high school from Dakota Lutheran in Minot, ND. She furthered her education at Minot State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in home economics and music. Marjetta was united in marriage to William John Hadler of Surrey, ND, on July 14, 1963, at First Lutheran Church in Bottineau, ND. They lived a short time in Willow City prior to moving to Denton, MT in 1964. In 1967, they moved their family to Erskine, MN. While in Erskine, Marjetta taught music and home economics and Bill farmed near Red Lake Falls. In 2021, they moved to Annandale.
Marjetta was a well-rounded artist and devoted to her faith and family. She enjoyed creative activities such as sewing, quilting, painting, canning, cooking, and creating crafts. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine, where she was active with the Ladies Aid, Quilters Club, bible study, as the choir director, and even filling in as the pianist or violinist when needed. She was also a member of the Jolly 14 homemakers club. Her unconditional love for her family will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Hadler; daughter, Laurel Crews of Beaver Dam, WI; son, David (Suzanne Gulsvig) Hadler of Annandale; and five grandchildren, Brooke Lee (Josh), Trevor Lee (Hannah), Chloe Crews, Calli Hadler, and Alyssa Hadler. Marjetta is preceded in death by her parents, Enoch and Gladys Mastvelten.
