Marie H. Smith, age 80, of Maple Lake died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Parkview Care Center, Buffalo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2005 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will follow in St. Timothy`s Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Marie Hildegard Smith was born October 7, 1924 in St. Michael to William and Mary (Otten) Weber. She married Melvin `Snuffy` Smith July 5, 1947 in Buffalo and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2002. Marie lived most of her life in Maple Lake where she was a homemaker and a cook at various restaurants. She was a member of St. Timothy`s Church and Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, needlepoint, and crocheting.
She is survived by daughters & their husbands, Susan & Norman `Buzz` Geyen of Monticello, Dellie & Tom Durnin of Annandale; son in law, Cliff Wurm, Sr. of Maple Lake; brother, Lawrence Weber of Buffalo; sister, Delrose Ahlm of Buffalo; sisters in law, Ethel Fobbe of Maple Lake, Phyllis Smith of Buffalo; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Carol Wurm; brother, Norman `Chuck` Weber; and sister, Isabelle Higgins.
The pallbearers will be Cliff Wurm, Jr., Cory Wurm, Craig Geyen, Mark Geyen, Melissa Geyen, Amanda Durnin, Todd Durnin, and Kaylan Wurm. Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
