Marian M. Thurk, age 89 of Annandale died Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Silver Creek with Rev. David Fretham officiating. Burial will be in Corinna Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Hal Hoekstra officiating. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Silver Creek.
Marian Mayme Thurk was born November 7, 1921 in Corinna Township to Sam and Edla (Maenpaa) Lusti. In 1940 she graduated from Annandale High School. Marian was united in marriage to Kenneth Thurk on June 28, 1941. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was involved in LWML and the quilting group. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing and baking for her family and friends.
Marian is survived by her two children & their spouses, Clyde & Jean Thurk of Bloomington and Joyce & David Johnson of Two Harbors; two granddaughters & their spouses, Jennifer & Bob LaCroix and Amy & Dave Eberhardy; four great grandchildren, Jonah, Gabe, Hannah and Tealy; and sister-in-law, Susie Lusti. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Edla; husband, Kenneth; sisters, Sigrid Peterson, Viola Campion, Esther Lusti and Irene Fashant; and brothers, William and Eddie Lusti.
Pallbearers will be Rev. Hal Hoekstra, David Johnson, Bob LaCroix, Randy Gordon, Brian Gordon and Ed Swingley. Delores Hayes will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
