Obituary
Margaret "Marge" Ward, age 92, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the Buffalo Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. Burial will follow at St. Timothy's Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 8-9 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Friday.
Marge was born November 12, 1918 in Albion Township, Maple Lake, MN, daughter of Peter "Joe" and Margaret "Maggie" (O'Neil) Hannon.
She married her high school sweetheart, George Thomas Ward on October 25, 1941 at St Timothy's Catholic Church in Maple Lake. They were blessed with six children.
Marge graduated when she was 16 from high school and received a business degree from American Business College in Minneapolis. She held many jobs: she worked for Agricultural Adjustment Administration in Buffalo for four years; Lake Region Coop for five years; Carlson Doll factory where she dressed the Indian dolls and would have all six kids helping with the bead work; and then was Post Master in Maple Lake Post Office for 23 years.
One of her greatest honor's was to be the 21st Grand Marshall of Maple Lake in 1997. She was a lifelong member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, a member of the VFW Post 7664 Auxiliary, and the Postmasters NAPUS Association.
Marge is survived by her children Mary (Joe) Sentyrz, Bob (Lois) Ward, Jeannie (Mike) Fobbe, John (Sue) Ward, Tom (Kate) Ward, Becky (Chad) Mead, and her honorary daughter and niece, Margie (Jim) Peterson.
Grandchildren: Alex, Julie, Joelle, Dustin, Jinger, Lucas, Scott, Mandy, Jared, Jessi, and Maggie.
Great grandchildren: Gabi, Genessa, James, Boaz, Keziah, Priscilla, Tabitha, Nehemiah, Deborah, Naomi, Chloe, Anastasia, Landon, Gracie, Anna, Brady, Camren, and Callia.
Preceded in death by her husband George in 1969, her parents Maggie & Joe Hannon, her sister Catharine Froiland, brothers Jim, Tim, Tom, John, & Bob Hannon, and her grandson Wyatt Ward.
Left behind many relatives, friends and the Schwann men who delivered her treats.
The pallbearers will be Dusty, Scott, & Jared Ward, Alex Sentyrz, Loren Knese, and Mike Peterson.
