Obituary

Margaret L. Pribyl, age 93, of Maple Lake died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.

Visitation will be at the church after 8:00 a.m. Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake.  Fr. John Meyer will officiate and burial will follow at St. Timothy's Catholic Cemetery.

Margaret Lillian Pribyl was born October 25, 1919 in Maple Lake Township, Wright County, Minnesota to William and Mary (Kaz) Derfler.  As a very young child, her family moved to St. Paul and a few years later returned to Maple Lake.  Margaret graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1938 and from Buffalo Teachers Training in 1940.  She taught at many Wright County rural schools including Maple Lake, French Lake, and Monticello.  On September 10, 1946 she was united in Marriage to Victor George Pribyl in St. Timothy's Catholic Church.  The purchased a farm in Chatham Township and farmed for 10 years prior to building a new home in the City of Maple Lake.  She became manager of the Minnetonka Moccasin Factory until the owner moved the business to Puerto Rico.  She then worked at Maple Lake Elementary School as a para-professional until her retirement in 1977.  She was a member of St. Timothy's Church, the Council of Catholic Women, VFW Post 7664 Life Member, American Legion Post 131 Auxiliary, and the Bohemian Fraternal Lodge.

Margaret and Victor enjoyed traveling to Europe where Victor served his Country during World War II.  They visited the Scandinavian Countries, Alaska, Hawaii and spent some time during the winter in either Texas or Arizona.  Margaret will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a kind, considerate and generous neighbor and friend.  And of course, will be remembered for her delicious poppy seed and prune Bohemian Kolachy.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  husband Victor, sister & brother in law Lydia & Clarence Pribyl, brother & sister is law Jerry & Bertha Derfler, brother Harvey Derfler, and a nephew Baby Maurice Pribyl.  She is survived by nephews Donald (Joan) Pribyl of Maple Lake, Ralph (Melanie) Pribyl of Maple Lake, David (Karen) Derfler of Minneapolis, Daniel (Cindy) Derfler of Pequot Lakes, nieces Mary (Don) Snyder of Pequot Lakes, Jane Pribyl of Maple Plain, Theresa (Ron) Helmbrecht of Buffalo, sister in law Regina Derfler of Pequot Lakes, great and great-great nieces and nephews; especially the families of great niece Charlene (Chris) Nyquist, Kenny, Loren (Amee) Pribyl, & Matthew of Maple Lake who held a very special place in her heart.

The pallbearers will be Loren Pribyl, Scott Reiss, Mike Peterson, Chris Nyquist, John Northenscold Jr, and Linus Latour.  The music for the service will be provided by Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox, Sarah Goelz, and Chris Vokaty.  The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
