Margaret "Peggy" Gerard, age 77, of Annandale, formerly of Minneapolis, died Friday the 13th of May, 2011 at Bethany Community Nursing Home in Alexandria after a long battle with lung cancer.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with Funeral Services held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, French Lake. Memorials are preferred to Bethany Community.
Margaret Catherine Gerard was born Friday the 13th of April, 1934 to Allan R. and Rena Ann (Giardi) Lee. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis with the class of 1952. On October 29, 1955, Peggy was united in marriage to Jerome LeRoy Gerard in Minneapolis. She worked for many years in accounts payable for Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis. Peggy was a proud colon and breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed playing games and doing puzzles.
Peggy is survived by her four children & their spouses, Thomas & Holly of Alexandria, Paul & Karen of Champlin, Catherine & Thomas Johnson of Annandale and Robert of Alexandria; two sisters, Mary Ann Alvarez of Hill City and Linda Wallace of Nevada, TX; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Rena Lee, husband, Jerome on February 18, 2011 and daughter in law, Lee Gerard.
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah & Taylor Johnson, Joseph & Michael Gerard, Ken Alvarez, and Warren Nelson. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
