Luke J. Mengelkoch, age 31 of South Haven died Tuesday, May 27, 2008.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale. Rev. David Nelson will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church. A prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Luke J. Mengelkoch was born January 6, 1977 in Waconia to Kenneth and Margaret (Appel) Mengelkoch. He was a 1995 graduate of Annandale High School. Luke married Melody Derosier on April 24, 1999 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. Together, they had two children, Caleb and Devin. Luke worked as a welder and boom truck operator at Tri-State Drilling for 13 years. He enjoyed riding dirt bike and four wheelers, boating, hunting with his mom and dad, going on family trips, and playing with the kids.

He is survived by his wife, Melody; sons, Caleb and Devin; parents, Kenneth and Margaret Mengelkoch of Maple Lake; sister, Samantha (Luke) Miller of Maple Lake; brother, Tony Mengelkoch of Watkins; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Vicki Derosier of South Haven; sisters-in-law, Lorrie (Craig) Hiemstra of Clearwater and Terri (Jeff) Weber of Annandale; brother-in-law, Cory (Angie) Derosier of Kimball; and many nieces and nephews. His grandparents, Charles and Margaret Appel and David and Alice Mengelkoch preceded him in death.
