Luella A. Nelson, age 91, of Annandale died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Parkview Care Center , Buffalo .

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia and Fr. Mark Pavlik officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery , Annandale . Friends may call at St. Ignatius Catholic Church from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Monday at the Church.

Luella Augusta Nelson was born November 29, 1919 at Maple Lake to Jerry and Mary (Hess) Dircks. She was a 1938 graduate of Annandale High School and married Harold F. Nelson on June 5, 1940; he preceded her in death on March 27, 1972. She was a homemaker and for 22 years worked at Marv's Red Owl. She was a member & Past President of the Council of Catholic Women and also a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, a birthday club & several card clubs. She enjoyed embroidering, sewing quilts, cooking, gardening, flowers, making crafts and traveling.

She is survived by children David (Karen) Nelson of Villa Park, IL, Ronald (Nancy) Nelson of Maplewood, Larry (Barbara) Nelson of Springfield, IL, Bonnie Stueven of Buffalo, Connie Nelson of Clearwater, brother in law Donald Nelson of Annandale, sisters in law Ruby Schmitz of Franklin, VA, Mildred Dircks of Annandale, Mary Dircks of Clearwater, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in law Clyde Stueven, sisters & brothers Eleanor Aretz, Francis Dircks, Adeline Bongard, Edwin Dircks, Lillian Logeais, Alice O'Loughlin, Ben Dircks, Harold Dircks, Emily Lambert, and numerous brothers & sisters in law.

The pallbearers will be grandsons Joe, Brad, Jacob, Paul & Dan Nelson and Jeremiah Stueven. The honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters Sherry Stueven, Laura Oakleaf and Cynthia Blume. The music for the service will be provided by St. Ignatius Music Ministry and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
