Lorraine A. Hokkala, age 90, of South Haven died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Annandale Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Lake Union Covenant Church, South Haven with Rev. Dan Thompson and Rev. Lloyd Melvie officiating.  Burial will follow at Lake Union Covenant Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.  A prayer service will be held 6:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

Lorraine Anna Hokkala was born May 26, 1925 in Minneapolis to Oscar and Hulda (Nipp) Zweig.  She graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 1944.  Lorraine was united in marriage to Levi Lars Hokkala on January 26, 1945 in Maple Lake.  She worked for 25 years as a cook at Bendix Elementary School in Annandale.  She was a member of Lake Union Covenant Church in South Haven, the Ladies Aid and was a charter member of the South Haven VFW Auxiliary.    Lorraine enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting and spending time with family

Lorraine is survived by her children Eugene (Marilyn) Hokkala of Shoreview, Carol (Dale) Marohn of Annandale, Trudy (Howard) Leinonen of Evansville, WY, Jerry (Sharon) Hokkala of South Haven, Wendy Hainlin of Monterey, CA and Michael (Cheryl) Hokkala of South Haven; sisters Doris Johnson of Hector and Helen Shook of Palm Springs, CA; brothers Paul (Bernice) Zweig of Shoreview, Oscar Zweig of Garrison and Marvin (Dorothy) Zweig of Queen Creek, AZ; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Hulda Zweig; and husband Levi Hokkala.

The casket bearers will be Levi and Analee Hokkala, Justin Leinonen, Eric Hainlin, Sara Pettijohn and Darin Marohn.  Marleigh Rumsey and Crystal Rossman will provide the music for the service.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
