Lorraine G. Vinkemeier, age 80 of Annandale and formerly of Buffalo and Cologne, died Friday, January 05, 2007 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. Rev. Thomas Queck will officiate and burial will be in Benton Cemetery, Cologne. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Lorraine Gladys Vinkemeier was born May 13, 1926 in Cologne to Henry and Florence (Mielke) Thaemert. She was baptized on June 6, 1926 and confirmed on March 12, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carver. She married Edward E. Vinkemeier on July 2, 1945 in Chaska and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2001. Lorraine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale. She enjoyed Knitting, crocheting, traveling, fishing and going to the cabin.
Lorraine in survived by her sons and their wives, Harlan and wife, Nena of Norwood, Edward and wife, Kathy of Annandale, Gene and fiancAC., Shelly Olin of South Haven and Dean and wife, Pat of Kimball; daughter-in-law, Colleen of Annandale; sisters, Irene Rolf of Cologne, and Joyce Hoof and husband Hilbert of Young America; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Gary; granddaughter, Holly Jo; daughter-in-law, Karen; brother, Harold Thaemert; and brother-in-law, Hartmond Vinkemeier.
Pallbearers will be Lisa Overman, Robbie Wicks, Jeff, Brian, Edward and Jena Vinkemeier. Julie Starke, organist and Leah Vinkemeier, violinist will provide the music for the service. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
