Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at St. Anne`s Catholic Church in Kimball for Lorraine I. Dingmann, age 96, of Kimball, who died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Country Manor Health Care Center, Sartell. Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Parish prayers will be 6 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Lorraine Isabelle Dingmann was born April 24, 1912 to Arthur & Mary (Tisserand) Parent in rural Foley, MN. She graduated from Foley High School in 1929 and was a member of the girl's basketball team, she then graduated from St. Cloud Business College. She married Frunce Dingmann on Oct. 20, 1938 at St. John`s Catholic Church in Foley. They lived in Clear Lake until moving to Kimball in 1943. Over the years, they owned and operated Dingmann Hardware, Implement, and Funeral Home in Clear Lake and Kimball. Lorraine was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church where she was involved in Christian Mothers & St. Anne's Prayer Group, a CCD Teacher, a Eucharistic Minister, and instrumental in starting the tradition of providing lunches after funerals. In 1979 Bishop George Speltz awarded her the Bishop`s Medal of Merit. Lorraine was an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters and sons, Joan of Waite Park, Douglas (Karen) of Becker, Mary (Neal) Spaulding of Kimball, Dorie (Gary) Bennett of Wyoming, MN, Art (Marlene) of Annandale, and Al (Maureen) of Kimball; 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frunce on Nov. 25, 1974; and sisters, Justine Corrigan, Leona Gebhardt, and Mary Thompson.
