Loretta Fox, of South Haven died on her 93rd birthday, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Heritage House of Kimball with her family at her side.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 14 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kimball with Rev. Dave Milz officiating. Burial will follow at Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. A prayer service will be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Loretta Stella Marcella Fox was born October 10, 1920 in Rockville Township to Adam and Mary (Dinkfelt) Kuseske. She attended Brown Country School until her 8th grade graduation. She married George Fox on May 16, 1940 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball and their marriage was blessed with 5 children. Together, they farmed in Maine Prairie Township until 1981. They shared 67 years of marriage, until George passed away on January 24, 2008. Loretta was a homemaker, a loving mother and she helped out at Beaches Resort. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church since the age of 2; she was involved in the Ladies Aid and served as church secretary. Loretta enjoyed bowling, traveling and playing cards. She did ceramics, crocheting, embroidering and knitting. She made lots of afghans, baby blankets and dollies for family members. In her younger years, she enjoyed her flower gardens and vegetable garden. She froze and canned lots of vegetables, especially pickles and homemade tomato soup; she always had plenty to give to others. She was a sweetheart, she always helped if able and she loved to tease. Loretta loved to bake and she shared recipes with family and friends; Her doughnuts were loved by everybody and she made them for all occasions.
She is survived by her children & their spouses Janice & Ronald Kunkel of Luxemburg, DeLayne & Ronald Erpelding of Willmar, Delvin & Paulette Fox of South Haven, LaNaye & Lester Schauer of Glencoe and DelRay Fox of St. Cloud; brother & his spouse Elmer & Frances Kuseske of Buffalo; sister in law Velma Kuseske; 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband George; grandson Gary Kunkel; brothers Raymond, William, Edward and Ervin Kuseske; and sisters Millie Dinkfelt, Martha Meyer and Helen Bruns.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Kunkel, RaMona Thorpe, Andrea Holtz, Kraig Kunkel, Jolene Nelson and Ashley Thorpe. Jeremy Schauer will be an honorary pallbearer. Lynn Hoff will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Service of Kimball.
