Obituary

Mrs. Loretta P. Kaley, age 82, of Maple Lake died Thursday, December 2, 2004 at home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2004 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Rev. Richard Kaley OFM Conv. and Father Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

Loretta Philomina Kaley was born September 22, 1922 in Olivia to John and Matilda (Julius) Dobmeier. She married Richard L. Kaley January 29, 1945 in Bird Island and he preceded her in death December 25, 1983. Loretta & Richard owned and operated Richard's Bakery & Catering Service, Bloomington from 1954-1975. She was choir director at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, Bloomington and the first music director at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Bloomington. Loretta moved to Maple Lake in 1975 and was very active in the community. She was site coordinator of senior dining in Maple Lake from 1984-1993. She was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake where she was the former music director for 7 years. She was member and past president of the Maple Lake VFW Auxiliary Post #7664, and volunteered at Wright County Community Action, Maple Lake where she was also a former board member. Loretta loved her family, music, church, entertaining friends, and enjoyed life.

Loretta is survived by 9 children and their spouses, Mary Jo (Dennis) Petersen, Rev. Richard Kaley OFM Conv., James (Jane) Kaley, Kevin (Kathleen) Kaley, Michael (Vicki) Lopez-Kaley, Gerald Kaley, David Kaley, Robert Kaley (Adrian Pereira), and William (Tonya) Kaley; brothers, Ernest Dobmeier, Mervin 'Pete' Dobmeier, and Donald 'Bud' Dobmeier; sisters, Julia Steffel, and Marcella 'Sally' Steil; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Patricia Hilgers; sisters, Josephine Ninow, and Lorraine Jacobson; brothers, Earl and Clifford Dobmeier.

Pallbearers will be Scott Petersen, Michael Kelley, Benjamin Kaley, Matthew Kaley, Joshua Kaley, Richard Kelley, and Zachary Kaley.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake, MN.
