Loren R. Monson, age 70, of South Haven died Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Rev. Victor Valencia officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale.
Loren Robert Monson was born September 25, 1934 in St. James to Edward F. and Lillian L. (Stegemeyer) Monson. He served his Country in the U.S. Army and married Marlys C. Haekenkamp on August 11, 1962 in Winsted. Loren was a journeyman carpenter for Witcher Construction and then Kraus-Anderson for 29 years. He was a member of Carpenter's Union Local #1644 of Minneapolis and a 17-year member of the Watertown Fire Dept. He lived in Watertown prior to moving to South Haven in 1993. He enjoyed woodcarving, camping, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, fast pitch softball, card playing, puzzles, and watching birds and other wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, Marlys of South Haven; children & their spouses, Michael & Julie of Montrose, Jodee & Jim Benage of Hutchinson, Scott & Sherry of Chaska; brothers & their wives, Clifford & Judy of Cokato, Allan & Yvonne of Big Timber, MT; 12 grandchildren, Nikki, Janelle, Jessica, Dustin, Gary, Travis, Jayson, Jordan, Josh, Tyler, Ameilia, & Hunter; 2 great grandchildren, Skyler & Brett. His parents and an infant sister, Bonita preceded him in death.
The pallbearers will be Clifford & Allan Monson and the music for the service will be provided by Dureen Gasser. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
