He was a 1963 graduate of DeLaSalle High School, where he participated in football, wrestling, track, baseball, and was a senior class business manager. In addition to his career in education, Loren was the proud owner and operator of Birchview Motel in Coon Rapids for over 25 years. Throughout his life, Loren devoted himself to imparting knowledge, providing guidance, and fostering growth among his students. His tenure as a teacher at Forest Lake High School was marked by his passion for instilling values of integrity, compassion, and perseverance in the young minds he nurtured. Loren's generosity extended far beyond the classroom, as he was actively involved in counseling, mentoring, volunteering, and donating to various causes. Loren enjoyed fishing, hunting, and renovating his train car and was an avid story teller. He stayed active playing softball until 2017.
