Lois Lorraine Bohn was born on January 31, 1938, in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Urban and Dorothy (Keating) Bohn. She graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1956 and continued her education at North Dakota State College of Science, graduating in 1957. She then embarked on a career as a legal secretary. Her journey took her from Wahpeton, North Dakota, to California for a year, and then to Minneapolis, where she spent seven years.
On December 27, 1969, Lois married the love of her life, John Harlan "Harley" Myllykangas at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. Together, they cultivated a warm and loving home in rural Kimball, Minnesota, raising their two children, Kevin and Karla. They enjoyed spending the winter months in Mission, Texas, which they were fortunate enough to do for 20 years.
A devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball, Lois also participated in the quilting group. Lois also found joy in reading and playing scrabble with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her children, Kevin (Sheila) Myllykangas of St. Cloud, and Karla (Keith) Ruprecht of Cold Spring; five grandchildren, Mason and Brittany Myllykangas, Leah (Michael) Donnay, Taylor Ruprecht, and Amber (Dillin) Christinsen; great-grandchildren, Harlow and Hadley Christinsen with one more great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harley; parents, Urban and Dorothy Bohn; and siblings-in-law, Gloria Stiff, Kenneth Myllykangas, and Joyce Smith.
Leah Donnay, Taylor Ruprecht, Mason Myllykangas and Brittany Myllykangas will serve as urn bearers. A special thank you to Vitality Living for the care that they provided to Lois the past five years. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Kimball.
