Obituary

Linda "Lyn" Baker, age 66, of Maple Lake, died Monday, September 12, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family at the Buffalo Hospital after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Linda Delores Baker was born June 3, 1956, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Benjamin and Delores (Looman) Marschel. Lyn grew up on the family farm, before moving into the city limits of Annandale. She was a 1974 graduate of Annandale High School. Following her graduation, Lyn worked for Malco. After dating for 6 1/2 years, on June 11, 1977, she was united in marriage to Joseph Baker at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. They briefly made their home in Annandale, before moving to Maple Lake, where they raised their family. For over 30 years Lyn opened her home and her heart to all, as well as provided daycare to many Maple Lake children. She was a faithful member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and worked as a lunch lady at St. Timothy's School. Lyn was a tremendous cook and baker, always making the most delicious desserts. Lyn always gave her time and talents for the sake of others. Her humble, loving, and caring nature was evident to all who were lucky enough to encounter Lyn. She enjoyed sitting on her peaceful patio watching the birds, tending to her flowers, doing puzzles, and attending her family's sporting events. Nothing brought Lyn greater joy than a clean home and the presence of her family, especially her 6 adoring grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joe of Maple Lake; children, Jeff (Shanna) Baker and Becky (Chad) Linder, both of Annandale; 6 grandchildren, Brody, Ava, Brock, Adilyn, Brecken, and Braylon; siblings, Karen Oberg of Buffalo, Duane (Sherri) Marschel of Florida, Dave (Donna) Marschel of Annandale, Dennis (Mae) Marschel of Buffalo, Doug (Coleen) Marschel of Montana, Darrel Marschel of Annandale, Judy (Guy) Negley of Maple Lake, Don (Dorothy) Marschel of Buffalo, and DeVan Marschel of Monticello; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Lyn was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Dean and Danny Marschel; and parents-in-law, Bill and Peggy Baker.

Lyn's grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Krista Elsenpeter and Theresa Gilbertson will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
