Lillian Jean Sukut, age 82, of Maple Lake, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at her home.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake with Pastor Eileen Mehl officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Lillian Jean Sukut was born August 17, 1935 to Gottlob and Hulda (Radke) Sukut in Lehr, North Dakota. Lillian grew up on the family farm by Pintree, North Dakota and attended country school in Stutsman County. Lillian then attended cosmetology school. Lillian worked as a cosmetologist for over 50 years for various beauty salons in the Minneapolis area, while also raising her son, Kevin "KJ". Lillian eventually moved out of the Twin Cities metro and resided in Kingston Township, Meeker County, before making her home in Maple Lake following KJ's death. Lillian was active at Grace Lutheran Church near French Lake, where she participated in various church groups and activities, including her strong involvement in WELCA. In the summer of 2017, Lillian was awarded Outstanding Senior Citizen at the Wright County Fair. She was further recognized as the Wright County Senior Woman Volunteer of the Year at the Minnesota State Fair. Lillian enjoyed gardening, baking, and quilting with her friends and neighbors at Maple Manor. Lillian also enjoyed a great conversation and being in the presence of good company.

Lillian is survived by her grandson, Jeremy (Stephanie Adair); great grandchild, Zoey; daughter-in-law, Diana; siblings, Gladys Ley of Jamestown, ND, Howard Sukut of Jamestown, ND, Earl Sukut of Cascade, MT, Geraldine Gutchmiller of Jamestown, ND, Marlys Sukut of Denver, CO, Gary Sukut Oviedo, FL, Sharon Grant of Cohasset, MN, and Bonnie Smith of Dallas, TX,; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin "KJ", and siblings, Frances Hoover, Allen Sukut, and LeRoy Sukut.
