Lila Alberg Schaaf, age 95, of Annandale died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia and Deacon Ron Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. There will be a 4 p.m. Rosary and 7 p.m. Prayer Service on Wednesday.
Lila Jeanette Alberg Schaaf was born February 19, 1911 at Annandale to Charles and Helen (Cassidy) Mabus. She married Edwin Alberg July 18, 1932 and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1975. She married Michael Schaaf April 27, 1991 and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2001. She was a homemaker and lived her lifetime in the South Haven and Annandale area. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church and Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed leading the Rosary at Church and at the Annandale Care Center. She was a volunteer at the Annandale Senior Dining and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children & their spouses, Betty & Russell Yonak of Buffalo, Larry & Margie Alberg of Annandale, Karen & LeRoy Munstenteiger of Grenada, MS, Quentin & Mary Alberg of Buffalo; daughter in law, Marilyn Alberg of Annandale; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 2 great great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son Charles Alberg, sisters, Irene Klingelhutz, Mildred Courchane, Kathryn Connelly, Tressa Mabus, & Ruth Stuhr, also a great great grandson.
The pallbearers will be Steve, Greg & Chad Alberg, Dennis & James Yonak, and Tom Hurrle. The music for the service will be provided by Carolyn Wicks, organist and Pat Freiberg, soloist. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
