Letitia "Tish" Peterson, age 68, of Maple Lake died Friday, December 30, 2011 at Christus Spohn Hospital - Shoreline in Corpus Christi, TX with her family at her side.
Memorial Services will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2011 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake with Deacon Ron Freeman officiating. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6 at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls. Friends may call from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A celebration of Tish's life will continue after the service at Madigan's in Maple Lake.
Letitia Amelia Peterson was born May 20, 1943 to Hugo and Evelyn (Schmitt) Kahlhamer at their home in Delano. She graduated from Delano High School with the class of 1961. On February 24, 1978, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Peterson in Watertown, South Dakota and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2010.
Tish worked at Wright Hennepin in Maple Lake before becoming a daycare provider at her home. After retiring from daycare, she worked at Roger's Amoco in Maple Lake and DeZiel Heating and A.C.
Tish was a volunteer at Corinna Township for elections and the Census. She enjoyed ceramics, making porcelain dolls, shopping, bingo, Sudoku, traveling, walking, exercising, dancing, Zumba, and being a Silverado VIP groupie. Tish was a caregiver to many. She loved to be with people, to share a cup of coffee with friends, to spend time with her children and play with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children & their spouses Milissa Peterson of San Diego, CA, Dana & Mike DeZiel of Buffalo, Daniel and Khaliun of Eagan, Steven & Sara of Maple Lake and Brian & Erin of St. Paul; three sisters & their spouses Elaine Hammer of Minneapolis, Patty & Evans Benz of Green Valley, AZ and Bonnie & Gary Yanish of Plymouth; seven grandchildren, Megan, Hanna, George, Leo, Sydnee, Ella and Parker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Evelyn; husband, Bob; and brother in law Gil Hammer.
