Obituary
LeRoy D. McKeown Sr., age 84, of South Haven died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Zion United Methodist Church, South Haven with Rev. Ric Koehn officiating. Interment will be at Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Monday.
LeRoy Donald McKeown Sr. was born September 7, 1924 at LeSueur to Glenn and Ruth (Swanson) McKeown. He served his Country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army. LeRoy married Maria Anna Ehrke on December 17, 1954 in Germany and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2006. Since 1960 he lived at South Haven and was a custodian for Annandale Schools retiring in 1987. LeRoy was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church, a former member of South Haven VFW Post 332, and enjoyed being with his family & friends.
He is survived by his children & their spouses LeRoy Jr. & Kathy of Wichita, KS, Bill & Debbie of Elk River, Carol & Mark Jordan of South Haven, Trish & Mike Caird of South Haven, sister Dorothy (Kenneth) Mueller of LeSueur, 13 grandchildren Thomas, Kevin, Kim, Kyle & Ryan McKeown; Jeremy (Julie), Nathan, William Jr. & Paige McKeown; Mandy (Scott) Berscheid, Cassy (J.R.) McGuire & Christopher Pramann; and Ashley (Doug) Hommerding, 8 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 1 step great granddaughter. His wife and brother Clayton preceded him in death.
LeRoy's grandchildren will be the pallbearers, Jamie Miller will be the organist for the service and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
