Obituary

Mrs. Leona A. Marschel, age 81, of 16072 Caisson Road, Kimball died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2004 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Kimball with Father David Grundman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Watkins. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:30 a.m. at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Sunday.

Leona Ann Marschel was born February 16, 1923 in Watkins to Christopher and E. Irene (Peaslee) Rausch. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1941. Leona married Arnold L. Marschel December 15, 1942 in Neosho, MO and he preceded her in death May 14, 1999. She was a homemaker and lived in Watkins and Fair Haven before moving to Kimball. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Kimball, charter member of the South Haven VFW Auxiliary #7332, Kimball American Legion Auxiliary Unit #261, and the St. Cloud 40/8 Cabane #415. Leona loved her family and friends, playing cards, Dominoes, scenic drives, flowers, birds, country music, Branson, and her dog, Mitzy.

She is survived by 11 children, Gerry (Jeannie) of Park Rapids, Dale (Mary) of Sartell, LuAnn of Kimball, Renee (Duane) Berscheid of Kimball, Carol Santone-Royal and husband, Jimmy Dale Royal of St. Cloud, Mark and friend, Kim Vogler of Watkins, Connie (Joe) Chouinard of Maplewood, Marie of St. Cloud, Dori Hamilton and fiancAC., Jim Neu of Watkins, Bob Marschel and Colette VanVleet of Watkins, and Gene of Kimball; sister, Sheila Rausch OSB of St. Joseph; 25 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in law, John D. Santone Jr, and grandson, Joel Berscheid.

Pallbearers will be Tony Schmidt, Michael Marschel, Brent Hamilton, Todd Hegstad, Ryan Marschel, and Tony VanVleet. Music for the funeral provided by Joe Chouinard, and St. Anne's Choir.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Kimball, MN.
