Leona Lantto, age 90, of Annandale passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Annandale Care Center.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with Funeral Services held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal.
She is survived by children Janice (Dale) Carlson of Annandale, Jack of Brooklyn Park, James (Diane) of Elk River, Jerald (Karen) of Clearwater, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her husband, daughter Joanne, and several brothers & sisters preceded her in death.
Leona Anna Emilee Lantto was born March 8, 1922 in New Avon Township, Redwood County to Emil and Anna (Struckmann) Raddatz. She was a 1941 graduate of Wabasso High School and then went to beauty college. She married Leo N. Lantto on January 2, 1943 in Redwood Falls and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1988. For many years she was a teacher at 916 Vo-Tech School in White Bear Lake. She lived in Minneapolis from 1941 until moving to the Annandale area in 1984. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, volunteered at Camp Friendship, and participated in the Thursday mornings ladies golf at Southbrook. She enjoyed activities with her grandchildren, crocheting and sewing.
The pallbearers will be Michael & Daniel Carlson, Laura, Peter & Neil Lantto, and Rachel Glunz. The music for the service was provided by Mark & Ardis Nelson and Orma Lou Jacobsma. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
