Leo H. Winkelman, age 92 of Annandale died Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Rev. DJ Lura will officiate and burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minneapolis. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
Leo Harry Winkelman was born September 20, 1916 in Minneapolis to Harry and Eva (Yager) Winkelman. He married Dorothy Fossum on July 17, 1937 in Iowa. Leo worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Dayton-Rogers in Minneapolis, Reynold's Aluminum in Phoenix, AZ and Adohr-HiLite in Fullerton, CA. He enjoyed music, gardening, picnicing and being with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Jack) Allen of Reno, NV, Cathie (Walt) Rarer of Annandale and Lona Adams of Lakewood, CA; daughter-in-law, Lois Winkelman of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Winkelmen; mother, Eva Wilson; step-father, Circy Wilson; father, Harry Winkelman; son, Russell; granddaughter, Debbie Winkelman; brother, Wilbur; and an infant sister.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
