Obituary
Mr. Leo B. English, age 78, of 2425 Kimball Ave. NW, Annandale died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at his home.
Memorial services were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Rev. Stan Kozlak officiating. Inurnment followed in St. Mary`s Catholic Cemetery, Waverly.
Leo B. English was born December 29, 1923 in Minneapolis to Leo L. and Elizabeth (Shaker) English. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II and married LaVerne I. Rannow on February 4, 1948 in Minneapolis. He was a switchman for the Soo Line Railroad in Minneapolis for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He has lived on Granite Lake, rural Annandale for the past 32 years, previously living in Minneapolis. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne of Annandale; 3 daughters and their husbands, Kathy & Gary Wald of Minneapolis, Ellie & Dick Schubert of Summerfield, NC, Marie & Jeff Scherer of New Hampton, IA; sisters, Verna Rath and her husband Ed of Minneapolis, Ruth Riebrich of Philadelphia, PA, Pat Vehege of St. Louis Park; 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale, Minnesota.
