Obituary

Lenous L. Dammann, age 84, of Kimball died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Heritage House of Kimball.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven with Rev. Timothy Nerud officiating.  Burial will follow at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and at the Church one hour prior to services.

Lenous Lawrence Dammann was born February 12, 1927 in Fair Haven Township, Stearns County to Lawrence and Elizabeth 'Lizzie' (Gutknecht) Dammann.  He served during WW II as a member of the U.S. Army.  Lenous married Alice J. Mackereth on May 3, 1952 in Kimball and she preceded him in death on March 26, 1993.  He farmed his entire working lifetime in Fair Haven Township where he served many years on the Township Board.  He was a charter member of the Fair Haven Lions Club and was a member of the Wat-Kim-Valley VFW Post 5460.  Lenous enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and in recent years vacation trips with neighbors.

He is survived by sons John of Clearwater, Paul (Carol) of Clearwater, Dan (Becky) of Kimball, sisters Mabel Rohling of St. Cloud, Dorothy Mielke of Sauk Rapids, Frances (Elmer) Kuseske of Buffalo, 7 grandchildren Scott (Jeannette), Steve, Robert, Ryan, McKenzie, Faith, and Seth.  He was preceded in death by his wife, son Claude, and brother in law Orville Mielke.

The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
