Mrs. Leila E. Volkmann, age 96, of Annandale died Monday, May 16, 2005 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Annandale High School Auditorium with Edward Lindala speaking. Burial will be Monday, May 23, 2005 in Greenwood Cemetery, Sauk Centre. Friends may call from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale.

Leila Emily Volkmann was born December 6, 1908 in Clinton, MN to Emil and Florence (Schumacher) Eastman. She married Arnold W. Volkmann December 4, 1941 in Ortonville and he preceded her in death May 16, 1983. Leila was a homemaker living in Brooten and Sauk Centre prior to moving to Annandale in 1979. Leila was a member of the Annandale Congregation of Jehovah`s Witnesses.

Leila was very active until her death, attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall in Annandale and sharing her Scriptural beliefs with all she came in contact with. She will also be remembered for her positive spirit and hospitality. Leila enjoyed crocheting, making doll clothes, and spending time with her family.

Leila is survived by a daughter, Doris (Loris) Weispfennig of Villard; sons, A. Paul (Terese) of Chardon, OH, William (Laurice) of Florida & Leo (Rachel) of Annandale; sister, Marjorie Hegge of Clinton; grandchildren, Daryl (Kim), Leroy (Sheila) & Steven (Hannah) Weispfennig, Sarah (Jody) Powers, Scott, Ted & Abigail Volkmann, Vicky (Chris) Intihar, Emily (Russ) Hockenbrouch, Cary (Rosita), Melanie, Andrew & Robyn Volkmann, Casey (Roxanne) & Nikki Volkmann & Heidi (James) Adisano; great grandchildren, Kirsten, Michaela, Taylor, Jarrett, Brianna, Luke, Amy, Dylan & Matthew. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Emma Eastman; brother, Leo; & sisters, Mae Avis Hegge & Frances Tate.

Pallbearers will be Leila`s grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
