Obituary

Lee J. Worden, age 76, of South Haven died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at his home.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Victor Valencia will officiate and memorials are preferred to the Annandale Area Food Shelf.

Lee Joseph Worden was born December 1, 1933 at Dassel to Joseph and Hannah (Nyman) Worden. He graduated from Litchfield High School and was a U.S. Army Medic in Korea during the Korean War. He married Mary Fobbe on August 30, 1958 in Maple Lake. Lee's main occupation was raising mink; he also was an owner of Worden Brothers Inc, a pet food processing company in Grove City and later owned & operated Russell's Bar in Annandale. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobile racing, and playing cards or games.

He is survived by his wife Mary of South Haven, children Michael (Cynthia) of Atwater, Vicki of Annandale, Ronald of Annandale, Joseph (Iris) of Clifton Park, NY, 7 grandchildren Brittany, Justin, Jakob, Megan, Kathryn, Joey, Logan, brother Paul of Litchfield, sister Shirley (Paul) Schmidt of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers & sisters Vernon, Leonard, Leslie, Lois Householder, Delmer, William, Glenn, Duane and Betty Hicks.

The pallbearers will be Darrel, Randy & Dale Worden, Bill & Brian Hicks and Jerry Schmidt. The St. Ignatius Guitar Group will provide the music for the service and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
