Lawrence Nicholas Munstenteiger was born on September 10, 1932, in Maple Lake, to Benedict and Isabel (Latour) Munstenteiger. He grew up in Maple Lake, was baptized and confirmed at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake, and graduated with the Class of 1950 from Maple Lake High School. On October 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Janet Kuhlmann at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. A true farmer at heart, Larry found joy in all things related to farming. He loved to farm, talk about farming, talk about farm equipment, listen to crop reports from his kids or neighbors, listen to the market report on the radio, and anything and everything else that may have to do with farming. Larry kept a watchful eye on the neighborhood happenings from his garage. Whether it be a warm summer day or a freezing winter evening, the garage was one of his favorite spots to listen to the radio, usually about farming. Before losing his sight, Larry enjoyed the world of books. His sense of community extended beyond his own property, as he faithfully served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, was a lifetime member of the Maple Lake American Legion, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, was a former member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, and served for 32 years as Maple Lake Township Supervisor. Larry is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Mike (Wendy Rappe) of Maple Lake, Anna (Jeff Yager) of Maple Lake, John (Debby) of Maple Lake, and Rob (Jamie Holder-Dammer) of Annandale; ten grandchildren, Adam, Cody, Tanner, Ben, Jed, Katelyn, Samantha Jo, Joe, Max, and Hailey; twelve great-grandchildren, Maddilynn, Paizlee, Harlee, Wyatt, Brynley, Waylon, Ruby, Ryla, Hadlee, Everett, Millie, and Kelton, with one more on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benedict and Isabel; infant son, Nicholas; brothers, Joe, Steve, and James; and sisters, Anabel Jude, Rita Jude, and Mary "Pat" Erickson.
